Delhi, Bihar, Manipur and Gujarat teams won their matches on the inaugural day of Junior Boys National Football Tournament Dr B C Rai Tropy, on Sunday. The tournament is being organised under the auspices of All India Football Association by Madhya Pradesh Football Association. Matches are being played in Olympic Stadium, East Land Khamaria and Railway Stadium. First match at Olympic Stadium between Delhi and Puducherry teams. In the one-sided played match, Delhi registered a record victory over the opponent by the lead of 12-0 goals. In the match, Delhi’s Mahamad Shami marked maiden hat-trick of goals while Sarthak Singh, Iman Bin and Ginminhao scored two-two goals each.
In second match, Bihar blanked Tripura team by the lead of couple of goals netted by Afroz and Lekhak. First match at Railway Stadium was played between Manipur and Himachal Pradesh teams. In the one-sided match, Manipur registered victory over the opponent by the margin of 7 – 0 goals. Engengom Singh scored two goals while Suraj Singh, Samuel, Thengjam and Aavungshi netted single goal each. Besides this, Himachal Pradesh’s Thakur Abhiraj scored own goal.
In the second match at Railway Stadium, Gujarat registered victory over Andhra Pradesh team by the lead of 7 – 2 goals. Gujarat’s Savarsh and Shubh Modi netted two-two goals while Arnav, Yogesh and Akshat scored single goal each. Andhra Pradesh’s Dhanush and Rajesh scored single goals for their team. Chief guest of the inaugural ceremony was WCR Sports Association, President, D C Ahirwar while Medical Officer, Sanjay Mishra, MPFA, President, G K Shrivastava, Working President, Alok Chansoria and Lifetime Member, B D Datta were the special guests.
