Police arrest three poachers, recover skin of 2 leopards

 

 

 

 

Three poachers were arrested by Gadasarai police on charges of smuggling two skin of leopard. SP Sanjeev Kumar Sinha had directed all SHOs of district for taking action on the illegal activities in the district. Gadasarai police received a tip off about 3 persons coming from Anuppur on two bikes carrying skin of leopards, for selling it in Jabalpur. Later, senior officers were informed about the same and under the direction of SP Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, ASP Jagannath Markam, SDOP K K Tripathi, SHO, Gadasarai police station and his team cordoned the area. The team acted swiftly and stopped the bike riders in front of village Sursa Tola. Police stopped the poachers and after thoroughly checking their personal, they recovered skin of two leopards from their possession.

 

The police arrested accused Manohar Singh alias Shankar Singh Tilgaon (45), a resident of Kandikapa village; Mahendra Kushram (52), a resident of village Sanchara, and Dinesh Singh (42), a resident of village Basani, on charges of smuggling leopard skin. Police recovered two hides of leopard, two bikes, three mobile phones, and Rs 1,21,390 cash from their possession. The accused were booked under section 2,9, 39, 40, 48( a), 49 (b), 50, 51 under Wild Life Conservation Act, 1972. The accused were presented before the Court at Dindori.
