Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy of Excellence’s star shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar has won the gold medal while representing India in the on going 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. Team India’s trio of Divyansh Pawar, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Rudrankksh Patil have created a world record by scoring 1893.7 points. Earlier, this record was held by China. Academy’s Aishwary contributed 631.6 points in the 10 metre air rifle team event and won the gold medal for the Indian team. In the Asian Games, Aishwary Pratap Singh bagged bronze medal by securing third place in 10 metre rifle singles event with 228.8 points.

However, Divyansh will not advance to the final due to regulations permitting only two shooters from a single country. The Indian team were initially placed fourth, but as the nature of shooting goes, the rankings fluctuate wildly with shooters completing their 10-shot series. Rudrankksh and Tomar were hanging in the bottom-half of the top ten, with Divyansh was 17th. But their collective effort was enough to lift India to third in the team rankings, raising the possibility of a medal. Sports Minister Scindia congratulates: Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia, while greeting Aishwary on this wonderful achievement, said that Aishwary Pratap Singh of our academy ensured the gold medal for the Indian team and played a significant role in achieving the world record. The Indian team has defeated Republic of Korea and China by scoring 1893.7 points. Scindia said that I am proud that we have provided international level facilities to our players and its results are visible to the whole world. Aishwary Pratap Singh has emerged as an ideal player for the new talented shooters.
