The Indian Air Force’s air show drills by a fleet of military aircraft over the Upper Lake were witnessed in the skies of State capital on Tuesday as a part of rehearsal for the aerobatics display that is being held by the IAF to mark it’s 91st anniversary. The precise and synchronised rehearsal saw a magnificent fleet consisting of fighter planes, including Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, Sukhoi, Jaguar and other aircraft. The US-made Chinook choppers, which are used for transporting troops, artillery etc, were also part of the air show drill. Locals of Bhopal in large numbers were spotted on their terraces who were enthralled by the impressive aerial drill and recorded the drill movements on their smartphones.

Fighter aircraft that will be part of the air show are conducting touch-and-go manoeuvres from the airport runway. The event, scheduled for September 30, promises to be a spectacle that will have aviation enthusiasts of all ages on the edge of their seats. As the aircraft soared over Bhopal, the roaring engines and precision manoeuvres captivated the city’s residents who gathered on rooftops to witness the breathtaking performances. Director of Raja Bhoj Airport Ramji Awasthi said that 40 planes have arrived in the State capital for the flypast which is scheduled for September 30 to celebrate the 91st anniversary of the Air Force.

Of these, 25 aircraft have been parked at Rajabhoj Airport and the remaining three at the EME Centre. All necessary preparations have been made for this event. The full dress rehearsal is set for September 28, while practice sessions for the show will be conducted on September 26 and 27. The main event will be organised on September 30. For this, regular flights of Raja Bhoj Airport have also been rescheduled. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is not attending the programme. Governor Mangubhai Patel will be the chief guest. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also participate in the air show.
