DMIHER to hold ‘National Conclave for Medical Educators’ today

DATTA Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research (DMIHER), Deemed to be University, Wardha will be hosting a ‘National Conclave for Medical Educators’ and launch of the ‘Association of Medical Educators of India’ on September 28, 2023. India, home to over 700 medical schools with an annual intake exceeding 1,02,000 for undergraduate MBBS and over 65,000 for postgraduate speciality courses, stands as the world’s largest producer of trained health professionals.
 
India, despite its substantial capacity and expertise, has yet to make a tangible mark globally in medical education. This observation comes from international programmes across continents, notably the Indian Medical Science Education programme within the International Chair in Bioethics, UNESCO Chair’s Department of Education. Each medical school/college in India is earnestly invited to participate through its Dean or their nominee. The conclave will provide a platform to discuss and shape the proposed ‘Association of Medical Educators of India’.
 
The conclave will be held in a hybrid mode and will feature distinguished luminaries, including Prof Ricardo Leon-Borquez, President, World President of Medical Education; Prof Ronald Harden, Editor In Chief, Medical Teacher, AMEE; Dr William Pinsky, President ECFMG, FAIMER; Professor Dr Vedprakash Mishra, Pro-Chancellor DMIHER, and Dr Russell D’Souza, Head & Chair, Asia Pacific Division; Director, International Department of Education, International Chair in Bioethics, Melbourne, Australia.
