President Droupadi Murmu said that justice in the country should be easy, accessible and fast. President Murmu said that justice should not become so expensive that it goes out of reach of the common man. For this, there is a need to strengthen institutional efforts. With this belief, if the Nyay Bhavan is ready, it will give new energy to the judges, lawyers and employees to perform their duties together. President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the new sprawling High Court building in IIITDM campus. The President said “I have had earlier said that the people of the judiciary and the police should think and find a solution for those who are in jail for minor crimes. This is the country of ‘Panch Parmeshwar’. I believe that the dispute resolution system should be further strengthened. This will also reduce the burden on the judiciary. Murmu said that today’s foundation stone laying is an important step. For this I congratulate the CM of Madhya Pradesh and the officials of the High Court.”
Today, there are pending cases and under trial cases before the judiciary. According to an estimate, 4.5 crore cases are pending in the lower courts of the country. Many of these are pending for 20 to 30 years. I have been told that a special campaign has been started in Madhya Pradesh to settle the pending cases. In her address, President Murmu said that I am very happy to be in Jabalpur situated on the holy banks of Narmada. Murmu said that this building is the need of the hour. I am told that the new building will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, it is proposed to have court rooms for judges and chief justices, conference rooms, a separate room for lawyers and also for women advocates. Women empowerment is important for India. Judiciary is also a part of the society, that is why I feel that there should be proper participation of women here also. A woman has a nursing sense of justice. That is why it is said that a mother does not discriminate between her children. The process of giving justice is not according to any mathematical formula. Therefore, participation of women in the judicial system will also be beneficial in the judiciary. Murmu also mentioned a case of Jabalpur court, which is remembered even today. Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the countrymen are proud of the judiciary. We all respect the integrity of the judiciary.
It is a matter of pride that in the golden age of independence, the best justice system prevails in India. I wish that efforts should be made to bring the decisions of the High Court in Hindi language and regional languages. The Governor said that when the country celebrates hundred years of independence, then we will move forward with respect and pride in the field of independence also. The Governor said that even if someone is guilty, keep in mind that no innocent person should be punished. Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court Justice Ravi Malimath and Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh Prashant Singh, Judges of the High Court, District Court, Jabalpur Collector Superintendent of Police, Union Minister Pahlad Singh Patel, Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh, MLA Ashok Rohani, Sanjay Verma, President of High Court Bar Association Paritosh Trivedi, Secretary of High Court Bar Association Advocate Radhelal Gupta and members State Bar Council were present on the occasion.
