Swaraj ends second best in chess

Swaraj Mishra of Nagpur finished second best in the Maharashtra State Selection Under-7 Open Chess Championship organised by Chess Association, Kolhapur. The second place finish also helped Swaraj qualify for the nationals which is going to be held at Kolkata this month. Swaraj finished with 7.5 points at the end of eight rounds. He was tied with the winner Laksh Mihir Dighe but the latter was declared winner on better tie-break point. In the entire tournament, Swaraj remained unbeaten winning seven games and one draw with Mihir. He registered wins over Laksh Satyen Jain, Himanshu Arun Patil, Mantik Iyer, Nivaan Agarwal, Ridhaan Agrawal, Goranksh Abhishek Khandelwal and Darsh Raut. Chess fraternity congratulated and wished Swaraj luck for future.
