Continuing a campaign against illegal Cricket Satta, a combine team of Crime Branch and Gwarighat police apprehended two brothers engaged in taking Satta bookings on Cricket match and seized cash of Rs 45,000, two mobile handsets and record of Satta bookings amounting in lakhs of rupees from them late night on Saturday. The arrested have been identified as Jatin Prathyani (23) and his elder brother Shivam Prathyani (26), both residents of Kanchghar, Dwarka Nagar Ward in Ghamapur.
 
The accused were taking bookings on One-day International Cricket match between India and Pakistan in ongoing Asia Cup Tournament under the direction of owner of Mahadev online bookie Goa Branch, Nitesh Mangtani, a resident of Dhani Ki Kutiya in Adhartal and Vimal Katiyar, a resident of Deendayal Bus Stand. SHO of Gwarighat police station, Nehru Khandate informed that late night on Saturday, Crime Branch received information about a man who was maintaining accounts of Satta bookings on cricket match while on stairs at Gwarighat. Acting promptly on the information, a combine team of Crime Branch and Gwarighat police started a search and found the suspected man while several other persons were gathered around him under a tree on stairs of Gwarighat. Witnessing the police team, gathered persons managed to escape from the spot but alert cops managed to catch the suspected man. The suspect identified himself as Jatin Prathyani and police have seized a mobile handset and cash of Rs 30,000 collected through bookings from him. The arrested confessed the taking of online Satta bookings on India and Pakistan match in Asia Cup with the help of his elder brother Shivam Prathyani. He also disclosed that he along with his elder brother were taking Satta bookings on Cricket matches through Whats App by providing online URL ID to the customers under the direction of Mahadev Online Bookie of Goa Branch, Neetesh Mangtani and Vimal Katiyar.
 
On his identification, police started a search and arrested Shivam Prathyani and seized cash of Rs 15,000 and a mobile handset from him. Gwarigaht police have registered a case under Section 4A of Satta Act and Section 109 of IPC while a rigorous search is underway for apprehending Nitesh Mangtani and Vimal Katiyar. The bookies were apprehended with active working of police team comprised of SI, Umang Agrawal, Head Constable, Brahmaprakash, Constables, Mukesh Masram, Sharma Sharma and Crime Branch’s ASI, Pramod Pandey, Head Constables, Ramgopal Vishwakarma, Rammilan Chakrawarty, Constables, Ashutosh Baghel and Rajesh Mishra.
