High Court of Chhattisgarh has issued a new roster of work, which will be effective from September 4. The allocation of cases will be allocated to seventeen different benches. Three division benches, six special benches and eight single benches have been constituted. The Division Bench-I comprising of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi will hear all writ matters of Division Bench (except against the order of Tribunal constituted under Article 323-A and 323-B of the Constitution of India and matter relates to Ultra Vires up to the year 2022), Public Interest Litigation Petitions, writ appeal from the year 2023 onwards, habeas corpus petitions, criminal appeal from the year 2022 onwards, writ petition (Cr.), contempt petition (criminal) and application for leave to appeal U/s 378 Cr.P.C (Motion hearing matters). The Division Bench-II comprising of Justice Goutam Bhaduri and Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari will hear tax cases including writ appeals of tax cases, commercial division bench cases, all civil matters of division bench and company appeal and criminal appeal from the year 2020 to 2021.
 
The Division Bench-III comprising of Justice Sanjay K Agrawal and Justice Radhakishan Agrawal will hear all criminal matters of division bench (except criminal appeal from the year 2020 onwards and application for leave to appeal U/s378 Cr.P.C), writ appeal up to the year 2022, all writ matters of division bench (against the order of tribunal constituted under Article 323-A and 323-B of the Constitution of India and matter relates to Ultra Vires uto the year 2022), The Special Bench comprising of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha will hear application under sub-section (4) or sub-section (5) or sub-section (6) of Section 11 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, petitions under Section 482 Cr.P.C and Cr.M.P. up to the year 2017, criminal revision from the year 2013 to 2015 (except criminal revision against acquittal), transfer petition (criminal) and specially assigned cases. The Special Bench comprising of Justice Goutam Bhaduri will take up all nature of writ petitions (WP) up to the year 2006 and tied up matters. The Special Bench comprising of Justice Sanjay K Agrawal will hear civil revision up to the year 2020 and tied up matters.
 
The Special Bench comprising of Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi will take up criminal reference (SB), criminal revision against acquittal and tied up matters. The Special Bench will take up criminal appeal up to the year 2002 and tied up matters. The Special Bench comprising of Justice Radhakishan Agrawal will hear criminal revisions up to the year 2012 (except criminal revision against acquittal), miscellaneous appeal (Motor Vehicle Act) up to the year 2016 and tied up matters. The Single BenchI comprising of Justice Sanjay Agrawal will hear criminal appeals from the year 2003 to 2005, writ petition (service) from the year 2020 to 2021 and tied up matters. The Single Bench-II comprising of Justice Arvind Singh Chandel will take up writ petition (C) uto the year 2017, writ petition (service) from the year 2022 onwards and tied up matters. The Single Bench comprising of Justice Parth Prateem Sahu will take up writ petition (C) from the year 2018 onwards, contempt case (civil) and tied up matters. The Single Bench-IV comprising of Justice Rajani Dubey will hear writ petition (service) up to the year 2018, civil revision from the year 2021 onwards and tied up matters.
 
The Single Bench-V comprising of Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas will take up second appeals, first appeals, transfer petition (civil), all other civil matters which have not been assigned to any single bench, writ petition (Service) of the year 2019, writ petition (L) and tied up matters. The Single Bench-VI comprising of Justice Sachin Singh Rajput will hear miscellaneous appeal (Motor Vehicle Act) from the year 2017 onwards, criminal appeal from the year 2006 onwards, acquittal appeals and leave to appeals and tied up matters. The Single Bench-VII comprising of Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey will hear petitions under Section 482 Cr.P.C and Cr.M.P from the year 2018 onwards and all bail applications under Section 438 Cr.P.C and writ petition (T), writ petition under Article 227 Constitution of India and tied up matters. The Single Bench-VIII comprising of Justice Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal will take up all bail applications under Section 439 Cr.P.C, criminal revision from the year 2016 onwards (except criminal revision against acquittal), appeals under Section 14A of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, arising out of order of the Special Court under Section 438 Cr.P.C and 439 Cr.P.C and tied up matters.
