Love affair of teens ends in suicide pact

A young couple took their own lives by hanging from the same rope, marking a painful end to their love affair. The incident took place on Tuesday at Pendhari village in Parseoni tehsil, police said. The deceased have been identified as Gaurav Rajendra Bagmare (18), and Janvi Jeevan Nayale (17), both residents of Pendhari. According to police, the shocking suicides came to light around 6 am on Tuesday morning when villagers noticed that the door to an old, abandoned house adjacent to Gaurav’s residence was open. They found Gaurav and Janvi hanging from the same rope inside the house. Stunned by the sight, the villagers alerted the teenagers’ families and police.
The Parseoni Police inspected the crime scene. After performing panchanama, the bodies were transported to the Rural Hospital in Parseoni for post-mortem examination. Police Sub-Inspector Shivaji Bhatane is leading the investigation.
A police official said that Gaurav had recently completed his Class 12 at Tathagata Vidyalaya Karambhad and had secured admission to the Diesel Mechanic branch at the ITI in Saoner. He was the eldest son in his family. Janvi, on the other hand, was a Class 12 science student at Harihar Junior School in Parseoni and the eldest daughter in her family.
According to information gathered from the villagers, their love affair had been ongoing for naerly a year. On Monday night, they were seen engaged in late-night mobile chats, where they seemed to have decided to commit suicide together. The exact timing of the suicide is believed to be around midnight. Both hailed from the same small village, resulting in a tense atmosphere in the vicinity of the hospital.
