In a major success against Naxals, Balaghat police recovered explosives and other articles used by Naxals. Since long, police are receiving information about members of banned Naxal outfit Maoist, Malanjkhand and Tanda Dalam are attempting to murder police informers and police personnel by using huge quantity of arms, ammunition in their possession. Balaghat police regularly conduct search operations against Naxals in the district. During one such search opeartion by a joint team of Hawk Force and CRPF 123(Kinhi) in Choriya Chilora forest area under jurisdiction of Lanji police station, on Tuesday night, the team recovered haul of explosives dump.

 

During search operation, teams also recovered three cooker bomb kept by Naxals to attack the police team. BDDS team detonated two cooker bombs immediately and one cooker bomb was safely opened and gelatine rods, iron nails, codex wires were found. Police team also recovered urea, charcoal, sulphur. Ammonium nitrate, cordex wire, cooker, saw, iron pipe and other material. Still police are carrying out more search operation and area domination process, after huge haul of explosives was found. Material seized by the team includes 15 kg urea, 17 kg charcoal, sulphur 1.7 kg, 1.7 kg ammonium nitrate, 2 iron saw, one plier, one hammer, 10 feet cordex (industrial), 2 bundle of paper (blue and white colour), one cooker, 11 iron pipe, one bundle of rope, 2 pieces of wires, one bundle of wire.
