As per tradition Akhil Bharatvarsh Yadav Mahasabha Jabalpur organised a grand religious procession on the pious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on Thursday. Comprising glittering tableaus depicting important life moments of Lord Krishna, the Shobhayatra started from Main Bus Stand and passed through various places including Malviya Chowk, Lordganj, Bada Phuhara, Sarafa and Hanumantal before its culmination at Bhantallaiya where it received a warm welcome by many eminent personalities including Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh, MLAs and other eminent leaders from BJP and Congress. The Shobhayatra was taken out by Akhil Bhartvarshiya Yadav Mahasabha in which other organisations also took active part. Thousands of devotees, comprising prominent citizens, politicians and heads of social and religious organizations participated in the Shobhayatra, which was accorded rousing reception by traders and others organisations. Besides ensuring tight security for avoiding any untoward incident, the administration had made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the Shobhayatra, which is taken out every year on Krishna Janamashtami.

 

Before commencement of Shobhayatra, Murti pujan was performed under the patronage of Bhaiyaji Sarkar (Dada Guru), followed by Rath Poojan and Dhwajarohan ceremonies performed amid religious rituals and chanting of Vedic hymns. Members of Yadav mahasabha tied pagadis as a mark of respect on the foreheads of invited dignitories and senior citizens sharing the dais. They also welcome other members of the community by putting Tilak on their foreheads and giving them stoles mentioned with the names of Lord Krishna.
