Jabalpur police have solved blind murder mystery of a 30-year-old man killed three days back at Nabbe Quarter Nullah under Sanjeevani Nagar Police Station and arrested the accused who used to work as a construction labourer with the deceased. The accused committed the crime for distribution of money they received from their contractor. Police also seized the victim’s mobile from the accused’s house and also found the stone used in the crime. Meanwhile, the accused is in police custody where further investigations are on, informed Superintendent of Police Tushar Kant Vidyarthi. SP Vidyarthi was addressing a press conference held at Police Control Room on Thursday to inform about murder case being solved within three days of crime.
 
He further informed that the accused was identified as Ajay Barkade (20) (Uike), son of Baliram Uike Gond, a resident of village Barbaspur (Bichiya) under Shahpura Thana, Dindori district presently residing close to Coffee House, Kachpura under Sanjeevani Nagar police station. The victim, 30-year-old Sarju Prasad Jhariya, a resident of Shriram Nagar, Madan Mahal, used to work as construction worker with the accused. On September 2, 2023, both Jhariya and Uike consumed liquor and got involved in a heated argument over distribution of money. In a fit of rage, Uike killed Jhariya by thrashing a heavy boulder on his head and threw his body in a pit-hole of Nabbe Quarter nullah, which was later recovered by TI Sanjeevani Nagar, Purva Chourasiya and Humrah Staff on September 3, 2023. Following the directives of SP Vidyarthi, CSP Gorakhpur, HR Pandey, FSL Officer, Dr Neeta Jain and ASP (City South) Kamal Mourya reached the spot.
 
In presence of senior officers and FSL team, the body was sent for autopsy and after fulfilling panchnama formalities. The team found the heavy boulder from the spot and started investigations after registering a case under Section 302 and 201 of the IPC. During investigation, police found the victim’s friend Uike suspicious and during interrogation, he confessed to his crime. He murdered his friend following a heated argument for distribution of Rs 800 they earned that day. After thrashing a heavy boulder on the face and head of victim, he took out his mobile and Rs 600 from his pocket before throwing the body into a pit hole. He threw the mobile sim and hit it in his home. The accused will be presented in front of the court.
