SHRADDHA Bajaj of Narayana Vidyalayam, Chinchbhuvan and Vritika Game of Somalwar School, Maa Umiya Branch excelled in the 67th School Games Federation of India (SGFI) National Chess Championship 2023-24 held at Narayani Mahal, Sripuram, Vellore. Banking on the performances of Nagpur girls Shraddha and Vritika, Maharashtra clinched silver medal in the overall SGFI National Championship in Under-14 Group.
Both the players represented Maharashtra State Under-14 chess team which was selected after the DSO Maharashtra Chess Championship. The Under-14 Maharashtra team was represented by Shreya Hipparagi, Shraddha Bajaj, Vritika Game Pardeshi Chaturthi and Sara Harole coached by Rohit Pol. Shraddha played on 2nd board and secured five points out of six while Vritika scored four points out of six. Chess Association Nagpur congratulated the players and wished them for success in their future events.
