Lok Sabha Speaker and Member of Parliament (Kota-Bundi), Om Birla conducted an inspection of redevelopment works of Daknia Talav and Kota Railway Stations being carried out under the head of Amrit Station Yojana. More than 1200 Railway stations are being redeveloped and renovated with world class passengers facilities across the country under the head of Amrit Station Yojana. Under the scheme, redevelopment of total 17 railway stations in Kota division under West Central Railway is being carried out with a budget of Rs 356.85 crore for upgradation of passengers’ facilities including Madhopur, Gangapur City, Bhawani Mandi, Baran, Chhabra Gugor, Jhalawad City, Choumahla, Shamgarh, Mandalgarh, Bharatpur, Bayana, Shrimahaveerji, Hindaun City, Ramganjmandi, Bundi, Vikramgarh, Alok and Garoth stations. Besides this, Daknia Talav and Kota Railway stations are being developed with world class facilities with a budget of Rs 111.18 crore and Rs 207.63 crore.
Redevelopment of Daknia is targeted to be completed till November 5, 2024 and Kota Railway station will be redeveloped till April 29, 2025. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla sought information about ongoing redevelopment works at Daknia and Kota stations from DRM Kota, Manish Tiwari and witnessed the model and layout of project works. Railway officers informed about development works and its progress. During inspection, Om Birla also interacted with passengers at both the railway stations and sought information about available facilities. On the occasion, DRM Kota, Manish Tiwari, ADRM, Manoj Kumar Jain, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Senior Divisional Engineer (Station Development), Divisional Security Commissioner and other senior officers were present.
