Even though the Bhopal Collector has directed that a campaign be run to catch stray dogs in Bhopal and claimed that they would work in ‘full capacity’ to ensure that dog attacks don’t take place in future, stray dogs are continuously preying on innocent children in Bhopal. The latest incident is from Rajiv Nagar where a 3-year-old child was bitten by a dog. When the father called the municipal corporation’s dog squad, the pet lovers got angry. After reaching victim’s home, they abused injured kid’s and then beat him fiercely. The matter has been reported at Piplani Police Station. Police have registered a case against the pet lovers under relevant sections, including assault. The incident is of Rajiv Nagar of Bhopal. Vikesh Yadav, who works in construction company, lives here. On January 11, his 3-year-old child was bitten by a stray dog in the locality. Vikesh Yadav got the child treated, then informed the municipal corporation team about the stray dogs.

The team caught stray dogs from the colony. Pet lover Kavita Bhavnani, living in the colony, came to know about this on Sunday (January 14). She reached Vikesh’s house with her two sons Mohit and Vishal. He asked Vikesh, Had you called the dog squad of the municipal corporation? As soon as Vikesh said yes, Kavita and her sons got furious. He abused Vikesh and beat him up. Also threatened not to try to capture dogs in future. Piplani police station incharge Anurag Lal says that resident Vikesh Yadav has lodged a complaint in the case of dog biting of a 3-year-old child in Rajiv Nagar. A case of abuse and assault was registered and investigation was started. Notably, a seven-month-old boy was mauled to death in Bhopal recently.
