As part of the special cleanliness campaign initiated on the pious occasion of Makar Sankranti in temples across the state ahead of the consecration ceremony of Ramlala in Ayodhya, MLA Abhilash Pandey along with Corporators and senior officials of the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation participated in the cleaning drive conducted in all temples under division 3, 7, 8, 13 and 14, on Monday. They thoroughly cleaned and washed the temples and also lifted garbage. On the occasion, MLA Pandey and Corporators administered the oath of cleanliness to the citizens. They also pledged to not only maintain cleanliness around temples but also ensure cleanliness in their homes and surrounding areas. Furthermore, they encouraged others to actively participate in this campaign.
 
Regarding the special cleanliness campaign, Municipal Commissioner Preeti Yadav informed that upon receiving directives from the State government, she instructed all concerned officials to coordinate with each other and ensure smooth conduct of all scheduled events being organized in regard with the consecration ceremony of Lord Shri Ram on January 22. She asked that the officials entrusted with responsibilities should carry out their duties with complete dedication and honesty.
 
It may be noted that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has given a call for cleaning of temples across the country by initiating Swachh Mandir campaign, ahead of ensuing consecration of Ramlala in Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22. PM Modi has appealed citizens to continue cleanliness campaign until January 22. Accordingly, the Municipal Corporation is also conducting drive and ensuring cleaning of all small and big temples in the city.
