Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a direct interaction with Mankunwari Bai, a beneficiary, to inquire about the government schemes she has benefited from. Mankunwari Bai, belonging to the Pahari Korwa community, shared her experiences with the Prime Minister during the interaction at Bagicha of Jashpur District on Monday. The virtual interaction programme was held under Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyaan. Speaking to the Prime Minister, Mankunwari Bai mentioned that she lives in a pucca house built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which has significantly improved their living conditions.
 
Earlier, the lack of electricity was a challenge for Mankunwari’s family. However, after the implementation of government schemes, they now have access to electricity, addressing their previous difficulties. Mankunwari Bai expressed gratitude for the Ujjwala scheme, stating that with the provided gas cylinder, cooking has become more convenient, saving time and effort. In response to the Prime Minister’s question about learning new recipes, Mankunwari mentioned that she can now easily prepare dishes like Dhuska and Bhajiya. Access to clean drinking water, which was a significant challenge in their mountainous region, has been resolved through government initiatives, she informed. During the interaction, Mankunwari Bai also thanked Prime Minister Modi for the positive impact of these schemes on her family’s life.
 
In response, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and emphasised the importance of more people benefiting from government schemes to amplify their impact. He appreciated Mankunwari for not only availing herself of the benefits, but also helping other beneficiaries access these schemes. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Jashpur MLA Raimuni Bhagat and MLA Gomti Sai were also present on the occasion. Earlier, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai had inaugurated the programme.
