In the meeting regarding removal of Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) corridor of Bhopal held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, it was decided that the work of removing the corridor will be start from Sant Hirdaram Nagar (Bairagarh) on January 20. BRTS corridors will be removed from all parts of the city in a phased manner in the next three months. Chief Minister Dr Yadav said that BRTS corridors are being removed for ease of traffic congestion and public convenience. The work of removing the corridor should be done at night and in co-ordination with the police, smooth and safe traffic system should be ensured in the city during the entire period of removing the corridor. Chief Minister Dr Yadav was holding a meeting in the Ministry regarding the removal of BRTS corridor of Bhopal. While removing the corridor, special care should be taken for the convenience of the general public.
 
Chief Minister Dr Yadav said that to start normal traffic in the BRTS corridor, an action plan should be made after necessary co-ordination with the traffic police. The use of these corridors should be started immediately in a systematic and safe manner during times of high traffic pressure in various areas. While removing the corridor, efforts should be made to maintain traffic flow by using service lanes etc. After the removal of BRTS corridor, 6 lanes of traffic will be available. It is noteworthy that the BRTS corridor has 6.4 kilometres from Misrod to Empri, 1.42 kilometres from Roshanpura to Kamla Park, 1.73 kilometres from Collectorate office to Lalghati and 3.81 kilometres from Halalpur to Sehore Naka (Bairagarh).
 
The action to remove BRTS corridor from Halalpur to Sehore Naka (Bairagarh) will be taken by the Public Works Department. The municipal corporation will remove the corridor in the remaining three parts. After the removal of the corridor, 6 lanes of traffic will be available. Earlier too, in the meeting of public representatives, it was agreed to remove the BRTS corridor of Bhopal. Chief Secretary Veera Rana, Principal Secretary of Public Works Sukhveer Singh, Principal Secretary Nikunj Srivastava, Divisional Commissioner Bhopal Dr Pawan Kumar Sharma along with other officials of the District Administration and Municipal Corporation were present in the meeting.
