PRIME Minister Narendra Modi will be the main “yajman” at the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, Laxmikant Dixit, the main priest for the ritual, said here on Wednesday. Dixit refuted reports that Ram temple trust member Anil Mishra, who is performing rituals with his wife in the run-up to the main event, will be the yajman also on the consecration day. Typically, the yajman is the main host of a puja -- the person on whose behalf the prayers are offered. Talking to reporters before leaving for Ayodhya, Dixit, the main ‘archak’ (priest) made it clear that PM Modi will be the main yajman for the ‘pran pratishtha’ rituals in Ayodhya.
Ram Lalla idol brought inside, to be installed today
The idol of Ram Lalla was brought inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple here on Wednesday night, Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairperson Nripendra Mishra said. A special puja was held in the sanctum sanatorum before the idol was brought inside. Mishra said idol is likely to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday, Mishra said. The idol was brought to the temple in a truck. Rituals are being performed in the run-up to the January 22 consecration ceremony at the Ram temple. A 'Kalash Pujan' was held earlier on Wednesday. The rituals will continue till January 21 and on the day of the consecration, minimum essential rituals needed for the 'Pran Pratishtha' of the idol of Ram Lalla will be conducted, according to Ram temple trust officials. There are 121 ‘acharyas’ who are conducting the rituals.

AHEAD of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at Ayodhya Ram Temple on January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the country will miss the beloved legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. PM Modi took to social media platform X to state “As the nation awaits January 22 with great enthusiasm, one of the people who will be missed is our beloved Lata Didi.” Sharing a shloka sung by her, PM Modi said it was the last recording by Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away at the age of 92 on February 6 in the year 2022. “As the nation awaits 22nd January with great enthusiasm, one of the people who will be missed is our beloved Lata Didi. Here is a Shlok she sung. Her family told me that it was the last Shlok she recorded. #ShriRamBhajan.”
Ram Temple creates a buzz in Davos too
RAM Temple in Ayodhya has created a buzz in this Swiss ski resort town during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting with devotees planning to hold Ram Bhajans and light diyas on the consecration day this coming Monday.
Union Minister Smriti Irani said she met a group of devotees who asked her if they can also celebrate Ram Temple consecration ceremony on January 24. “Some Ram Bhakts here asked me to record a message imploring the community here to do Ram Bhajan and to lighten diyas here on 22nd January.”
