‘Mahasanskriti Mahotsav’ to commence today at Ramtek

The ‘Mahasanskriti Mahotsav’ organised by Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Maharashtra and the district administration will be inaugurated on January 19 at Nehru Maidan, Ramtek at 7 pm. The main attraction of the festival includes Ramayan dance drama by actress Hema Malini on the first day. Padma Shri Suresh Wadekar will present his concert on January 20. A devotional musical concert by singer Hansraj Raghuvanshi will be held on January 21. Sindhuragiri Mahanatya on Ramtek will be performed on January 22 while singer Padma Shri Kailash Kher will mesmerise the audience with his soulful voice on the last day on January 23.
 
A seminar on Kavi Kalidas, demonstration of ‘Mahakhichdi’ by chef Vishnu Manohar, laser show, fire show, boat competition, photography and painting competition, skating competition, aeromodelling show, and food festival will also be organised during the five-day festival. The festival will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Minister of Cultural Affairs Sudhir Mungantiwar will grace the inaugural ceremony with their presence.
 
Zilla Parishad President Mukta Kokkade, Member of Parliament Krupal Tumane, MLC Praveen Datke, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Sudhakar Adbale along with MLAs Abhijit Vanjari, Anil Deshmukh, Dr Nitin Raut, Krishna Khopde, Vikas Kumbhare, Mohan Mate, Vikas Thakre, Sameer Meghe, Raju Parve, Tekchand Sawarkar and chef Vishnu Manohar will be present. Vilas Kharge, Secretary, Department of Cultural Affairs; Vijayalakshmi Bidari, Divisional Commissioner; Dr Abhijeet Chaudhari, Commisoner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation; Dr Vipin Itankar, Collector and Vibhishan Chawre, Director, Department of Cultural Affairs have appealed all citizens to attend the programme in large numbers.
