‘Maajhi Vasti, Maajhi Ayodhya’ VHP’s campaign on January 22

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Vidarbha region will hold the ‘Maajhi Vasti, Maajhi Ayodhya’ campaign in the backdrop of ‘Pran Pratishtha’ or the consecration ceremony of the idol of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, scheduled on January 22. Addressing a press conference on Friday, Amol Thakre, Convenor of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Prathishtahan Utsav Samiti, Nagpur stated that they had successfully distributed the ‘Akshat’ received from Ayodhya and reached more than 5 lakh households in city to participate in the inaugural ceremony. “We implemented a campaign under our team members Gaurav Jaju and Bhavna Bhagat from January 1. The campaign received an overwhelming support from 16,976 ‘Ram bhakts’ that included men, women and college students.
 
Sharing their experiences, the campaigners said that they were well received at all homes across city. A joyous atmosphere has gripped the citizens and everyone expressed the desire to visit Ayodhya and have darshan of Shri Ram. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Prathishtahan Utsav Samiti will hold more than 6000 big and small programmes on January 22. Members of the transgender community will hold a bhajan and aarti programme at Sai Mandir, Wardha Road, at 11 am. Drums will be played at 40 locations and big screens will be installed at gurdwaras, temples and other religious places to watch the live telecast of the ceremony at Ayodhya. Flag hoisting, firecracker show, prasad distribution, lighting of lamps will form part of the celebrations. The celebrations is also getting support from other communities, said VHP members.
 
VHP members have appealed all citizens to implement the ‘Maajhi Vasti, Maajhi Ayodhya’ concept in their areas by participating in the aarti programme at the nearest Ram Mandir from 11 am to 1 pm on January 22. Citizens should light lamps at their houses during evening, appealed VHP. Govind Shende, Prashant Titre, Chandan Goswami, Niranjan Risaldar and others were present in the press conference.
