A financial dispute within the property business culminated into murder on Sunday afternoon as a property dealer was brutally stabbed to death in a moving Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) by his business partner and two accomplices on Umred Road near Champa village. The deceased, identified as Aditya alias Vinod alias Gotu Ashok Bondre, was a 35-year-old resident of Telephone Nagar. He owned Yashasvi Land Developers, with an office located in Dighori area, police said. The accused have been identified as Sachin Parasram Pendharkar (33), a native of Lakhni in Bhandara district, along with his accomplice Roshan Manwatkar and an unidentified person. According to the police, Aditya and Sachin, who were business partners, had been embroiled in a financial dispute for several days, resulting in frequent arguments between the two.

Tensions reached a boiling point on Saturday which led to another altercation. Police allege that Sachin devised a plan to murder Aditya and enlisted the help of Roshan and one other in the conspiracy. On Sunday morning, Sachin contacted Aditya and enticed him with the prospect of affordable farmland available for sale on Umred Road. They agreed to inspect the land on Sunday afternoon. Around 11 am, Sachin informed Aditya that his Scorpio SUV had encountered a mechanical issue and requested him to come with his Fortuner SUV. Aditya, accompanied by his driver Satish Deulkar, arrived in the Dighori area at approximately 12 noon. Sachin and his two accomplices boarded the SUV, with one associate sitting next to the driver, and Sachin and Roshan occupying the rear seats with Aditya. The vehicle reached the Champa area, where the accused carried out their gruesome attack.

Sachin and Roshan stabbed Aditya with a knife, and when the driver, Satish, attempted to intervene, he too was threatened with a knife, said police. After multiple stabbings, the assailants fled on foot. Satish rushed the profusely bleeding Aditya to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The attackers fled to Pachgaon and vanished in thin air. Kuhi Police station and Local Crime Branch officials launched an investigation into the incident. A case has been registered under Sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
