The local supplies that started from end December have resulted in a sharp drop in vegetable prices giving relief to households which are burdened by inflation and rising cost of living. “The vegetable prices have dropped on account of local supplies coming in good quantity to the Mahatma Phule wholesale vegetable market popularly known as Cotton Market in the city. This trend of low prices will continue throughout the month of February in the wholesale market,” said Ram Mahajan, Secretary of Mahatma Phule Sabji Bazaar Association and one of the leading vegetable wholesalers while speaking to The Hitavada.
