Digvijay Singh crying foul over EVM: Sharma

 

 

 

 

 

Responding to Congress’ allegations over EVM tampering and biased Election Commission, the State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has termed it nothing more than an attempt to hide failure. Reacting sharply to senior Congress leader Digvijay’s accusation on the ECI, State BJP President and MP, V D Sharma has said “It is Congress party’s character to insult Constitution and Government agencies. Since their party suffered defeat in recently held elections, their leaders blame machinery. Their party is going all out to save the image of Gandhi family and maintain the politics of appeasement.” Sharma targets Digvijay Singh’s selective approach saying whenever their party lost elections, they level charges on the Election Commission and EVM.

 

They don’t blame when their organisation won elections. Why they didn’t make such allegations after the Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh elections? They attribute victory to the party’s ideology and their leaders. “Fact of matter is that Congress and its allies have become aware that they are going to lose upcoming General elections. People have immense faith in BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. " Finding his diminishing role in his own party, Digvijay Singh is desperate to be in the eyes of high command and media through these acts. Sharma said “Since Digvijay Singh has been sidelined in his own party and the new team of state unit doesn’t pay much attention to Singh’s advice, Digvijay Singh has nothing to do in his own party. Just to maintain importance, he tries to come up with such baseless issues.”

 

Hurling a question on Congress party’s silence on ECI’s claim, BJP State President Sharma asked “Why didn’t they turn up when the Election Commission invited critics of EVM to prove claims of hacking at the commission's office? Congress party's denial attitude to the Election Commission’s challenge and claim proves that Congress and its coalition partners are poised for rout in Lok Sabha election and BJP will retain in power with majority as people have faith in Modiji. Their leaders enacting dramas to mislead people with hollow claims.”
