The 75th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the district. Main celebration was organised at Police Line in presence of Public Work Minister Rakesh Singh who unfurled the national flag. Minister Singh with Collector Deepak Saxena and Superintendent of Police Aditya Pratap Singh, inspected the parade on an open white gipsy. He read the message of Republic Day conveyed by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav. The Armed Forces did ‘Harsh Fire’ while Police Band played the national anthem, amid which the PWD Minister released ‘tri-coloured’ balloons in the sky as a mark of peace, prosperity and happiness. Under the leadership of IPS Officer, Adarshkant Shukla and Subedar Yohesh Chouksey as Deputy Commander, an attractive parade was carried out. Platoons of STF, Compact Platoon VIth Battalion, Nagar Sena, male and female platoons of District Police Force, NCC Naval Unit, Senior and Junior Boys and Girls Unit of NCC, Scouts and Guides participated in the parade. The PWD Minister received guard of honour and interacted with platoon commanders.
 
He honoured freedom fighters and Constitution fighters with shawls and shreephals. Kala Pathak Dal presented Madhya Pradesh Gaan. The Republic Day was marked with attractive cultural programmes inspired with the feeling of patriotism. Students from Shishu Vidyapeeth Vidyalay GCF, MVM Narmada Road, St Norbert School, Bal Mandir and Wisdom Public School displayed their patriotic feeling through dance. Whereas, students from Stemfield Public School won everyone’s heart by creating different figures on Malkham. Fourteen Government departments attracted public attention through beautiful tableaus displaying achievements of different schemes enlisted in top-priorities of the State Government. The chief guest later awarded officials and employees especially ground-level team including sanitation workers, gram panchayat secretaries, Anganwadi and ASHA workers for their excellent performance in effective implementation of Government schemes and activities.
 
The PWD Minister also felicitated progressive farmers who adopted organic farming. Pragya Bhadoriya who completed marathon race of 26 kms at 4 years and Shalvi Dhusia from KV 1STC who contributed in public awareness for cleanliness and health, were also awarded. Main celebration was attended by MLA Ashok Rohani, JMC Chairperson, Rikunj Vij, Divisional Commissioner, Abhay Verma, Additional Director General of Police, Umesh Joga, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Tusharkant Vidyarthi, CEO Jila Panchayat, Jayati Singh, Municipal Commissioner, Preeti Yadav and other administrative officers, departmental heads and a large number of students and common public were present. The programme was anchored by Girish Mairal.
