RAIPUR,
Chhattisgarh’s first Ayurveda University will be opened in the capital city of Raipur. State’s Education Minister Brijmohan Agrawal inaugurated the two-day Ayurveda Alumni Meet, Swarn Kumbh, at Shri Narayan Prasad Avasthi Government Ayurveda College on Saturday and made this announcement. On this occasion, he also honoured senior doctors who have served both nationally and internationally after graduating from the college. Education Minister Agrawal stated that Ayurveda is an integral part of our lifestyle, with our kitchen serving as a self-sufficient Ayurvedic medicine centre.
He emphasised that a knowledgeable person can achieve a healthy body by correctly utilising Ayurvedic remedies. He highlighted the ancient origins of Ayurveda, citing instances such as when Vaidyaraj Sushen saved Lord Lakshmana’s life using Ayurveda during the time he fainted in Lanka. He remarked that during that era, allopathy was unheard of, and it gained prominence only during the British colonial period. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting Ayurveda and AYUSH, bringing global recognition to Ayurveda. Minister Agrawal acknowledged the role of Ayurveda and Ayurvedic remedies, particularly herbal concoctions, in saving lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. He suggested that the awareness about Ayurveda among the public has increased significantly during this time.
Education Minister Agrawal expressed that the program would provide an opportunity for all participants to reminisce about their student life and reconnect with old friends. He also mentioned that attendees would get a chance to meet individuals who struggled to establish Ayurveda as an equivalent to allopathy. Several dignitaries, including former MP Dr Bhushan Lal Jangde, poet Dr Surendra Dubey, Principal Dr GR Chaturvedi, Joint Director of AYUSH Dr Sunil Kumar Das, the organizing committee’s president Dr Patanjali Diwan, Dr Shiv Narayan Dwivedi, Dr Harendra Shukla, and many other respected individuals, were present at the event.
