Although two-day transporters’ strike was called off on Tuesday night and denizens heaved a sigh of relief, but for Shajapur Collector this episode has left bitter experience, he drew severe criticism and action over his reaction to the drivers’ representative. Consequently, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav removed Shajapur District Collector Kishor Kanyal from his post on Wednesday. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, an official from the Chief Minister’s office confirmed that Kanyal was removed from the post of Shajapur Collector on Dr Yadav’s directives. The State Government on Wednesday issued an order shifting Kanyal to the post of state deputy secretary. Notably, a video clip, which went viral, showed the Collector asking drivers and others not to take the law into their own hands when a representative of divers asked him to talk nicely. Kanyal got angry and asked the person concerned, “Kya karoge tum, kya aukat hai tumhari?” The man replied saying they are fighting this battle for the very reason that they don’t have any ‘aukat’ (social standing).

In view of the strike by transporters in various parts of the State protesting against the hit-and-run law which had hit normal life, especially panic over fuel availability. District administration across the State geared up to have discussion with the protesters. In this series. The Shajapur collector was holding a meeting with them. In an attempt to convince transporters to let the essential transportation facilities go on in the district, he was asking transporters to not take laws into their hands. That had turned into a heated argument as the video displays. CMO took a serious note over the incident. Despite Collector Kishor Kanyal expressed regret over his act, the action was taken against him the very next day. It is being seen as the Chief Minister’s stringent attitude and clear message to the bureaucrats that a zero tolerance policy will be implemented in the State. Collector also posted a video expressing regret over his choice of words after his ‘aukaat’ video went viral. Kanyal on the District Collector’s official X account stated that a meeting of about 250 truck and bus drivers was convened on Tuesday, a day after many of them created a ruckus and staged protests. “The meeting was held to tell them to raise their issues democratically but one of them was trying to incite others and threatening to intensify the stir, because of which I used these words. I express regret if anyone is hurt by my words,” he said. However, nobody will be allowed to take the law in his hand.”

But in a strongly-worded statement, CM Yadav said, “This Government is of the poor. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are working for the welfare of the poor. Officers should take care of their language and behaviour.”He further said, “won’t tolerate such language. everyone’s work and feelings should be respected. The Shajapur Collector has been removed from the post following the incident.” Now, Narsinghpur Collector Riju Bafna has been given the charge of Shajapur Collector. Notably, a few days back, while addressing a meeting with officers, the CM had said that complacency, corruption and negligence will not be tolerated and action will be taken against officers if they neglect governance. CM frequently used to mention that “He is a son of a mill worker.” Former BJP National Secretary, Kailash Vijayvargiya while addressing a programme in Indore had said “Indore will be known by the name of labour movement after settlement of demands of Hukumchand Mill workers. er taking oath, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav signed the first file for the welfare of the labourers.”
