The State Cabinet has decided to start Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi and Rani Durgawati Awards for social working women who have excelled in different ways of life after facing adversities. Besides, biographies of Rani Avanti Bai and Rani Durgawati will be included in academic syllabus. In another major declaration, State Cabinet has decided to improve the lifestyle of tribal people by increasing Tendupatta collection from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4000 per sack which was only Rs 1,250 in the year 2012. It will benefit around 35 lakh tribal persons and the Government will bear additional expenditure of Rs 165 crores in the scheme.
 
The maiden Cabinet meeting of the newly-formed Bharatiya Janata Party Government, led by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav was organised at the state electricity headquarters Shakti Bhawan in Jabalpur on Wednesday. Adding another benefit for the tribal people, State Cabinet has decided to start Rani Durgawati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana for procurement of millet crops from tribal farmers at the rate of Rs 10 per kilogram. The Government is determined to provide utmost financial benefits to tribal farmers and promotion of millet farming in Mandla, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Anuppur, Sidhi, Singrauli, Umaria, Shahdol, Seoni and Betul districts. As per the intentions of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, State Government will ensure promotion of production, stocking, processing, marketing, procurement and branding of millet crops.
 
During the Cabinet meeting, it was also decided to promote automobile sector and providing a bigger platform to Gwalior Vyapar Mela by providing 50 per cent rebate on sale of automobile during the mela. It will promote business, tourism and industrial activities. Similarly, the State Cabinet has approved the irrigation project of Rs 32,000 crores for providing better irrigation facilities to farmers and improve agricultural production. Cabinet has also approved the budget of Rs 4,600 crores for construction of new road network for desired infrastructure development in the State. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav chaired the meeting while all the Cabinet ministers were present during the meeting.
