Expressing his views at the inaugural function of 37th National Convention on Quality Concepts (NCQC) at Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM) on Thursday, Satyanarayan Nuwal, Chairman, Solar Industries India Ltd. said that twenty first century is all about excellence. “Incorporating quality and sustainability in practices is the mantra to chase it. Countries like Japan have shown that wonders can happen when being stringent about quality is adopted as philosophy and not just a compliance. Delivering world-class quality is the key to make India a global leader, and attract global investments,” he said. .
Nuwal was chief guest of the NCQC, the annual event of Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI). QCFI is an institution representing ‘The Quality Circle Movement in India’.
The Nagpur Chapter of QCFI is hosting the vent this year.
This three-day event is witnessing the participation of professionals from diverse industries in the case study presentations and other programs next two days.
The QCFI Awards 2023 for quality practices were presented during the inauguration ceremony. JSW Steel Coated Products Ltd., Kalmeshwar, Nagpur was given the Best Supporting Organization Award (Private Sector). SAIL – Bhilai Steel Plant, Bhilai, CG won the Best Supporting Organization Award (Public Sector). Shyam Singh, Tata Motors, Pune ; Anil Kumar Srivastava, Executive Director, RDF, Trombay ; S G Snacks, Dindigul, Madurai ; Ni-msme, Hyderabad and Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai were the other awardees under different categories.
Eight best performing coordinators of QCFI from all across India were also awarded.
Speaking earlier, Srinivasan Iyer, MD, Elkem South Asia Pvt Ltd, the Guest of Honour, highlighted the importance of sustainable practices in manufacturing sector. A K Jain, Chairman, QCFI Nagpur Chapter elaborated the Convention Theme ‘Nurture Quality Concepts for a better future’. Avinash Mishra, National President, QCFI and DK Srivastava, Executive Director, QCFI also spoke at the ceremony. Vivek Shrouty, Secretary, QCFI Nagpur Chapter proposed the formal vote of thanks.
