The word quality has a wide meaning hidden in it. But along with quality, honesty, transparency and reliability are also equally important and it is the real wealth of the 21st century. Gadkari further remembered his association with the Quality Circle Forum of India and said, “I got an opportunity to work with the Quality Circle Forum in 1995. At that time I was the Maharashtra Public Works Minister and I had a great experience working with Mrs. Punawala and her team. 55 flyovers, Worli-Bandra Sea-Link, Mumbai-Pune Expressway, etc. were done in Mumbai. At that time, there were 26,000 people to work with on various Government projects worth Rs 1800 crore. After that we set up Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Limited, (MSRDC) and managed to complete projects worth Rs 8,000 crore with small team of only 49 people. That is the skill of management,” he highlighted. Gadkari also said that good management goes hand in hand with maintaining good quality and it requires speedy decision-making, transparency and a corruption-free environment.
