The 68th State-level School Sports Meet 2024-25 was inaugurated in a grand opening ceremony, on Monday. The sports meet is being jointly organised under the auspices of District Administration and Jabalpur District School Education Department. In first phase of the sports meet, Fencing and Road Cycling competitions were inaugurated at Ranital Sports Complex. Chief guest on the occasion was MLA, Abhilash Pandey while Arjun Award recipient, Madhu Yadav was special guest and Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association, Secretary, Digvijay Singh presided over the programme. The guests inaugurated the State Sports Meet by lighting traditional lamps and worshipping Goddess Saraswati. On the occasion, students of MLB School performed a colourful Tribal Baiga Dance and students of Bharat Sevak Samaj gave a fabulous performance of Rajasthani Dance.

 

Brass Band group of Wisdom Public School played melodious tunes. Addressing the progrmame, MLA Abhilash Pandey emphasised on the participation of students in sports activities as it enhances their personality and develops confidence in them to face challenges. Sports inculcate team spirit amongst students for achieving new heights in life. He encouraged the players for giving their best performance in their respective events and wished them for success. Boys and girls of Under-14, 17 and 19 age categories are participating in Fencing and Road Cycling Competitions. Fencing events are being organised at Badminton Hall of Ranital Sports Complex while Road Cycling events are organised at Khajri Khiriya by-pass road. Directorate Public Instruction, Observer, PD Dongare, District Education Officer, Ghanshyam Soni, Nodal Officer, Mukesh Shrivastava, Assistant Director (Sports), Asha Sisodhiya, District Sports Officer, Madhumita Hazra and others were present.
