It is a matter of pride for Jabalpur that Nidhi Kaur Padam Ruprah, a lawyer and academician from Civil Lines, Jabalpur has been awarded with prestigious ‘Global Change Maker Award’ at the United Nations' Impact Directors Conference. The conference was held from October 4 to 7, 2024, in Istanbul, Turkey. Notably, Nidhi Ruprah is also a member of United Nations Women UK. The conference was attended by 80 to 100 delegates from across the world. Nidhi Ruprah spoke on immigration law and disability rights during the conference. Addressing the audience, she presented an example of how she worked for Afghan refugees who were granted emergency entry into the UK even without passports under threat from Taliban. In a similar manner, she suggested that differently-abled persons should be granted the special privilege of e-visas, as they often face challenges in completing processes like biometric verification, which can be difficult for them.

Recognizing her dedication to social justice and innovative approach, she was honoured with this prestigious award, bringing pride not only to Jabalpur but also to the entire state and country. Nidhi Ruprah has always been a strong advocate for women's safety and rights, passionately working towards positive change in her legal career. She is the wife of Advocate Navtej Singh Ruprah, daughter-in-law of Advocate Narinderpal Singh Ruprah, and daughter of Ashok Padam.

The Ruprah family is well-known in the city, with three generations practicing law at the High Court and Supreme Court. Currently, Nidhi serves as a Lecturer at Jindal Global Law School and practices as an immigration lawyer specializing in UK immigration law, boasting a 100% success rate in her field. She also plays a key role in shaping the academic structure and improving teaching methods as an honorary member of HS Ruprah Law College in Jabalpur. In addition, she is a training provider for the Solicitor Qualifying Examination (the UK Bar Exam).
