Raipur City South Legislative Assembly Constituency to go for polls on Nov 13 
 
Five companies of security forces will be deployed in Raipur City South Legislative Assembly Constituency to conduct free and fair by-election to be held on November 13. Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Chhattisgarh Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that the model code of conduct has come into force with immediate effect in Raipur City South Legislative Assembly Constituency after the Election Commission of India had yesterday announced the scheduled for by-poll. The CEO clarified that that the model code of conduct has been effective only in the Raipur City South Legislative Assembly Constituency. Being a municipal corporation and he state capital, the model code of conduct will not be applicable in the entire district, she added. Nomination will begin on October 18. Last date of filing nominations is October 25. Scrutiny of nominations will be held on October 28. Last date for the withdrawal of candidates is October 30. Polling will be held on November 13 and counting will take place on November 23.
 
There are 2,70,936 voters including 1,33,713 male voters, 1,37,171 female voters and 52 third gender voters in Raipur City South Legislative Assembly Constituency. There are 266 polling stations including 13 auxiliary polling stations in Raipur City South Assembly Constituency. 19 sector magistrates have been appointed. 4 Static Naka, 9 Flying Squad Teams (FSTs) 12 Static Surveillance Teams and 2 VVT have been constituted for the Raipur City South Legislative Assembly Constituency by-poll. The maximum limit for the expenditure is Rs 40 lakh. All hoardings and posters will be removed from Raipur City South Legislative Assembly Constituency, said the CEO. She said that 10 polling stations will be Sangwari polling stations and five Adarsh polling stations will be set up. The five polling stations will be managed by the youth. Live screening will take place in 227 polling stations. Kangale said that the voters would be made aware to cast their vote in the by-poll under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme.
