Gaikwad, Chavan, Lahoti, Sumant enter semi-finals

 

 

Pranav Gaikwad, Akhilesh Chavan, Ethan Lahoti and Anay Sumant defeated their respective rivals to book semi-final berths in the Under-12 boys singles of the MSLTA-NDHTA All India Ranking Championship Series CS7 under way at MSLTA Tennis Academy, Ramnagar. In the girls section, Sharanya Sawant, Shuchita Tripathi, Samaira Thakur and Raima Chavan made it to the last four of the singles section. In girls doubles final, Raima and Athrava pair will lock horns with Samaira and Sharanya pair for title. Raima and Atharva beat Shuchita and Naisha 7-5, 7-5 and Samaira and Sharanya beat Tiaana and Mahi 6-1, 6-1 in the semi-finals. In the boys singles quarter-final, Gaikwad quelled the challenge from Reyansh Gund defeating him 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 in a three-setter.

 

Chavan had no difficulty in crushing Shaurya Agrawal with a 6-1, 6-0 margin. In the third quarter-final, Ethan Lahoti beat Aniruddha Sakhare 7-6(5), 6-3. Aarush Deshpande conceded the match to Anay Sumant due of health issues when he was leading 4-1. In girls last eight battles, Sharanya defeated Ritika Deshpande 6-1, 6-3 and Shuchita Tripathi ousted Tiaana Thakkar 6-2, 6-3. Samaira Thakur beat Atharva Peram 6-4, 6-1 and Raima Chavan thrashed Arancha Mathur 6-0, 6-2. In the boys, doubles prequarter-finals, the pair of Kabir Borse and Reyansh Gund beat Swaraj Bhosale and Yuvaan Raipure 7-2(2), 2-6, 10-8 while Aniruddha Sakhare and Tiaan Thakkar pair beat Nirmay Jambulkar and Anaycharan Dubey 6-4, 6-4. Ishaan Karhu-Aaradhy Dhawad defeated Arnav Verma-Ridit Navale 6-4, 5-7, (11-9) and Akhilesh Chavan and Anay Sumant got the better of Vihaan Pongde and Neev Bhansali 6-0, 6-1. Later in the quarters, Pranav and Ethan beat Kabir Borse and Reyansh 6-0, 6-4 to make it to the semi-finals. Nihit and Taksheel beat Vihaan and Kabir Panchmatia 7-5, 6-2 while Anay and Akhilesh beat Ishaan and Aaradhya 6-0, 6-0 to make it to the last four.
