Lokayukta raids Jr Auditor Ramesh Hingorani’s home

 

In a shocking turn of events, the Lokayukta team conducted a raid on the residence at Lakshman Nagar, Bairagarh of Ramesh Hingorani, a junior auditor at the Directorate of Technical Education at Satpura Bhawan. The raid was carried out following allegations of corruption and amassing wealth disproportionate to his income. During the raid, the Lokayukta team found a staggering amount of wealth, including four cars and five expensive two-wheelers. Besides, a large quantity of diamond and gold jewellery was also recovered. The Lokayukta team also discovered that Hingorani and his family had invested crores of rupees in real estate which is believed to be acquired through corrupt means. Furthermore, it was found that Hingorani and his sons, Yogesh and Nilesh, had encroached upon government land in the Gandhi Nagar area and sold it for a hefty sum.

 

The Lokayukta team also raided the Lakshmi Devi Vikyomal Sarraf Higher Secondary School and Kiran Prerna School, which are run by the Lakshmi Devi Vikyomal Sarraf Education Society, of which Hingorani is a member. It was found that Hingorani and his sons had taken control of the schools and were drawing hefty salaries despite not having the required qualifications. The Lokayukta team is currently investigating the matter, and further action is expected to be taken against Hingorani and his family members. Lokayukta DSP Sanjay Shukla said that the raid was conducted based on a complaint of amassing wealth disproportionate to income. He added that some documents were seized, and the team is currently assessing the value of the jewellery and other assets. The raid has sent shockwaves in the bureaucratic circles, and it is expected to have far-reaching consequences for those involved in corruption and malpractices.
