Sleuths of Jabalpur Lokayukta raided house of Manoj Yadav, Secretary of Bamhani Gram Panchayat, situated in Samnapur Panchayat, on Wednesday morning. The investigation, led by DSP Dilip Jharbade, is focused on allegations of Yadav pertaining to possessing disproportionate properties. According to reports, complaints regarding Manoj Yadav’s disproportionate assets have been made by a whistleblower for an extended period. The Lokayukta team arrived at Yadav’s residence around 5 am and investigation is going on. Manoj Yadav, son of Dal Chand Yadav, has been serving as village secretary in Jada Surang since 2018. He began his career as a Panchayat worker in 2005 with a salary of Rs 1,250. Over the years, he has been transferred to various positions, including a stint in the Fitari village Panchayat and Dami Titarahi.
 
Currently, his salary is Rs 30,300, which, including allowances, amounts to approximately Rs 44,488 per month. He is married to Sangeeta Yadav and has two children a son, Lakshya and a daughter, Soumya. Sources indicate that after becoming a Panchayat worker, Yadav acquired significant land in nearby villages. He has constructed a lavish house spanning around 2,000 square feet. DSP Dilip Jharbade from the Jabalpur Lokayukt confirmed that the investigation into Yadav’s disproportionate assets was initiated following the complaint. During the raid, the team confiscated documents, including six land registries purchased under various names, amounting to approximately 15 acres of land. They also recovered jewelry valued at Rs 4 lakh and luxury items worth Rs 5 lakh. Besides this, information about three to four bank accounts was discovered and their valuation is currently underway. The secretary will be questioned about the sources of his income as part of the investigation which is still in progress.
