THE Public Sector General
Insurance (PSGI) employees
staged lunch hour demonstration in front of the Regional
Office of National Insurance
Co Ltd, Mount Road, Sadar,
Nagpur on Thursday.
More than 300 aggrieved
employees demanded immediate action by the Government
on long pending issues like
wage revision due from August
1, 2022, uniform 30% family
pension, scrapping of National
Pension System (NPS) and
demanding 1995 Pension
Scheme for all, till then an
increase in employer’s contribution to 14% in NPS.
A gate meeting was also
organised after the demonstrations.
The call for the
demonstration was given by
Joint Forum of Trade Unions
and Association (J FTU) at all
Regional Centres in the country. More than 16,000 employees participated in the demonstrations across the country.

Union Western Zone (GIEUWZ) addressed the gathering.
Rajendra Saroj condemned
the dilly-dallying approach of
General Insurers Public Sector
Association of India (GIPSA)
and Department of Financial
Services (DFS).
Pradeep Dharamthok said,
“We had given a notice of the
strike to the Chief Labour
Commissioner (CLC) to intervene and resolve the issues.
From June the proceedings are
ongoing, but without any positive results. So, we have to
struggle jointly and patiently
to achieve our demands.”

of retired employees also participated in the agitation.
