Man released from jail attacks girl, woman injures self to death

In a shocking incident, a man wounded himself to death after attempting to kill a girl and her mother in an act of revenge in Suman Nagar area under the jurisdiction of Ranjhi police station. The deceased has been identified as Lokesh Rajput, a resident of Gohalpur area. According to Ranjhi police, they received information from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital that a man was admitted for treatment of grave wounds who succumbed to his grave injuries during treatment in the hospital. Learning about the incident, police reached the hospital and learnt that the deceased named Lokesh Rajput was imprisoned in a case of rape who was released from jail and reached the residence of a girl at Suman Nagar in Ranjhi. The man attacked 20-year-old girl and her mother with a knife.

 

Thereafter, the accused entered a room and stabbed himself with the same knife. Soon some people reached the spot and rushed the injured to a private hospital where condition of the girl and her mother is reported to be stable and the accused was given primary treatment and referred at Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his grave injuries during treatment. Police sent the body for post-mortem after conducting panchnama. Based on the statements of injured girl and woman, Ranjhi police have registered a case while further investigations are underway.
