A sense of alarm spread through the Bagsewaniya area when the body of a young man was discovered on the railway tracks near the outer section of Rani Kamalapati Railway Station. The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Deepak Mahobe, son of Shivnarayan Mahobe. He was employed as an outsourced worker at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Hospital. According to cops, the body was found in a situation where the head of the deceased was missing. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Following the registration of an accidental death report, authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death. According to police reports, the body was found on Wednesday morning, and its condition was alarming.

 

Deepak’s identity was confirmed through a mobile phone found near the body. Originally from Betul district, Deepak had been residing in Bhopal with his uncle, Suresh Kumar, in the Barkheda area. He was last seen leaving his home after dinner on Tuesday night. However, details regarding how he reached the railway tracks remain unclear. The police are attempting to determine whether Deepak’s death was a suicide, homicide, or an accident. While talking to ‘The Hitavada’, Investigating Officer ASI Bhupendra Pathak stated that the circumstances of Deepak’s death are very unusual. There are indications that he may have committed suicide by jumping in front of a train, although this has not yet been confirmed.

 

The body has since been handed over to the family following the post-mortem. Friends and family of the deceased reportedly searched for his severed body for nearly two kilometres but were unable to locate it. Deepak had been working at AIIMS as an outsourced employee since December 2022. He was married in February 2024, and his wife is a primary school teacher in Ujjain, visiting Bhopal occasionally. Two months prior to his death, Deepak was involved in a romantic relationship that had caused some conflict, as he had confided in friends about his feelings for a girl. The police are investigating this aspect as a possible factor in the tragedy. As investigations continue, authorities hope to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident. The community is in shock, grappling with the loss of a young life under such mysterious circumstances.
