BVM SKN U-14 cagersare divisional champs

 

 

THE Under-14 girls of Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Srikrishna Nagar emerged champions of the interschool basketball tournament organised by District Sports Office at Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana courts. In the final, BVM Srikrishna Nagar, rode on Pankhudi Bade’s match high of 12 points and Rida Akbani (4) excellent play as they beat K John Public School, Asoli (Nagpur Rural) 21-5. For K John, Shamika Morey managed two points. The quarter-wise score was 7-3, 8-2, 4-0, 2-0. Earlier in the semi-finals: BVM Srikrishna Nagar (Pankhudi Bade 8, Avani Wandhe 5) beat Wardha 22- 2 (14-0, 6-0, 0-0, 2-0); K John Public School, Asoli, (Samika Morey 6) beat Gondia (Awani Raut 4) 18-6 (6-4, 6-0, 4-0, 2- 0). In the Under-14 boys category, Gondwana Sainik Vidyalaya, Gadchiroli defeated BVM, Civil Lines 40-25 to wrest the title. Arya Bhandarkar (29) and Om Balagwar (7) were the top scorers. For BVM, Sachmann Bedi scored 11 points. The quarter-wise score was 14-7, 9-6, 5-8, 12-4. In semis, Gadchiroli (Arya Bhandarkar 18) beat Podar International School Besa, Nagpur Rural (Satvat Gaidhane 6) 24-12 (8-3, 4-0, 6-6, 6-3); BVM Civil Lines, (Sachmann Bedi 13) beat Wardha (Divyansh C 8) 26-18 (5-10, 14-2, 2-4, 5-2).
