Lokayukta police survey land in lieu of which CM’s wife allotted 14 sites 
 
THE Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) on Tuesday decided to take back 14 plots allotted to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’swifeParvathiB M, following her decision to relinquishtheirownershipand possession. The MUDA has ordered to cancel the sale deed of these plots. Hours after ED booked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inamoneylaunderingcase,his wife on Monday wrote to MUDAconveyingherdecision to relinquish the ownership andpossessionof14plots statingthatnosite,home,assetand wealth is bigger for her than her husband’s respect, dignity, honour and peace of mind. “Smt. Parvathi’s son Dr Yathindra, a MLC, had submitted a letter....We have gone through the provisions in our act.There areprovisions inour acttotakeitwhengiven(back) voluntarily,” MUDA Commissioner A N Raghunandan said. Addressing reporters here, he said, “After consulting panel advocates and the legal officer, and after determining that everything is correct, we arrived at a conclusion. So, we have ordered to take it back. We have ordered to cancel the sale deed and handed it over to the sub registrar.”
 
Meanwhile, a team of Lokayukta police and others onTuesday surveyed the land, in lieu of which 14 sites were “illegally” allotted to Parvathi. The Lokayukta team was joined by the special land acquisition officer, surveyors and town planning members fromMUDA,andtheysurveyed the land and took notes, official sources said. Social activist Snehamayi Krishna on whose complaint the Lokayukta police has registered an FIR against Siddaramaiah,hiswifeandtwo others, was also present, they said. Krishna on Tuesday appearedbeforetheLokayukta policehere,followingthenotice issued to him by the investigating officers. 
 
CM questions ED slapping PMLA case against him, rules out resignation

KARNATAKA Chief Minister Siddaramaiahquestionedthe ED slapping a money laundering case against him in the MUDA ‘scam’ and once again ruled out his resignation over the issue. Siddaramaiah also alleged thathiswifeParvathiBM,who decidedtorelinquishtheownership and possession of 14 plots that was allotted to her by theMUDA(Mysuru Urban DevelopmentAuthority),was a victim of ‘politics of hate’ against him and he was surprised byhermove.Ateamof Lokayukta police probing MUDA site allotment case againstSiddaramaiahandothers on Tuesday surveyed the land, in lieu of which 14 sites were “illegally” allotted to his wife in Mysuru. “I don’t know on what grounds it’s a money-laundering case. Probably you (reporters)toofeelthe same. According to me, it does not attractthemoneylaundering case because compensatory sites were given. So, how is it a money-laundering case?”, the CM said here. 
 
After MUDA row, BJP questions land allocation to Kharge family-run trust

AMID a row over MUDA site allocation,theBJPonTuesday raised the issue of allocation of a land to a trust run by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge’sfamilyinBengaluru, alleging that the Congress leaders’ families are engaged in “land grab”. Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad alleged that theCongress Governmentin Karnataka has allocated 5 acres of land to Siddhartha Vihar Trust, run by Kharge’s family,under“suspiciouscircumstances” anddemanded a “transparent and honest” replyfromtheCongresspresident to the questions being raised on the issue. “It’s surprisingthattheSiddaramaiah Government allocatedthe 5- acrelandtothetrustinahightech defence area in Bangalore for setting up an R&Dfacility,”hesaid.“Andthe interesting thing about it is that this 5-acre land was given (to the Kharge family-run trust) within a few days of framing of the rules for (setting up of) R&D facilities in the area,” he added.
