Pay protection proposal in medical colleges discussed along with the action and co-ordination on the approval of positions in 454 healthcare institutions during the in-depth discussion of Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla with Chief Secretary Anurag Jain on Monday, at Vallabh Bhavan regarding various interdepartmental co-ordination issues. The issue of restoring the earlier Paramedical Council Act was also discussed. Additionally, the proposal to allow the outsourcing of community centres and civil hospitals was deliberated upon, with the aim of strengthening healthcare services in rural areas through its swift implementation.
Deputy Chief Minister Shukla also emphasised the importance of increasing the age limit for the recruitment of assistant professors in medical colleges from 40 to 50 years and discussed the relevant proposal.
The issue of approving positions in district hospitals in newly formed districts was also brought up.
A special exemption for nursing recruitment at Jabalpur Medical College was among the key points discussed. He directed that the necessary actions be expedited for obtaining approval from the Project Screening Committee for the up gradation and construction of Rewa Medical College, Satna Medical College Hospital, and Indore’s MY Hospital.
He also discussed the budget provisions for the financial year 2024-25. He stated that proposals for the upgradation of healthcare institutions and the development of healthcare infrastructure that are pending approval, and why increasing the departmental index is necessary to address this. The proposal prepared by the Animal Husbandry Department for the approval of a cow sanctuary in Hinoti village of Rewa district was also discussed, with Shukla urging swift action by the screening committee. Additionally, following the announcement by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the Deputy Chief Minister recommended that the Higher Education Department provide funds for the infrastructural development (building/bridge construction) and necessary land acquisition for the Rewa campus of Sandipani Sanskrit University in Ujjain. He stressed the need for immediate action to ensure this project reaches the public soon.
Rajendra Shukla stated that providing accessible and quality healthcare services is the top priority of the government. “In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, efforts are being made to continuously strengthen healthcare services and infrastructure for building a strong and self-reliant Madhya Pradesh.” He emphasised that effective departmental co-ordination is necessary for the swift implementation of these initiatives. Shukla stressed the need for co-ordination with relevant departments to ensure prompt action on key issues of the Public Health and Medical Education Department. He urged that respective department heads be instructed to expedite the required processes. Principal Secretary of Finance Manish Rastogi and Principal Secretary of Public Health and Medical Education Sandeep Yadav were present.
