The Governor and the Chief Minister also met the families of the martyred officers during Police Memorial Day parade 
 
GOVERNOR Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the Police Memorial Day parade held at the premises of the Fourth Corps of the Chhattisgarh Armed Forces in Mana Raipur. During the event, they paid their respects to the martyred police officers by laying wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial, honoring the bravery and sacrifice of the fallen soldiers on behalf of the people of State. The Governor and the Chief Minister also met the families of the martyred officers, expressing their heartfelt condolences and assuring them of continuous support. The families were presented with shawls, coconuts, and mementos as a token of respect. Speaking on the occasion Governor Deka praised the immense responsibility shouldered by the police.
 
He urged the public to show empathy towards police personnel and assist them in their duties, noting that while they maintain law and order under government directives, they also ensure peace in the society. He encouraged citizens to treat police officers with the respect they deserve, emphasising that even small gestures of kindness can positively impact their morale. He praised the courage and dedication of the police, particularly in tackling the Naxalite issue in Chhattisgarh, noting the progress made in improving security in affected areas through better communication with local people. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai echoed these sentiments, calling Police Memorial Day a time to honour the contributions of police and security forces. He acknowledged their role in maintaining law and order, which has facilitated development across State, especially in Naxal-affected regions.
 
He commended the efforts of police personnel in ensuring the implementation of government schemes in remote areas. The CM assured that the Government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, is fully supporting Chhattisgarh’s efforts to equip the police with necessary resources. He expressed confidence that with the bravery and dedication of the police and security forces, the state would achieve its target of eradicating Naxalism within the next two years. Director General of Police Ashok Juneja also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the police’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring that the sacrifices of the martyred soldiers will not go in vain. The event was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Pingua, Director General of Home Guard Arun Dev Gautam, Director General of Jail and Correctional Services Himanshu Gupta, senior police officers, and the families of the fallen soldiers.
