Show of strength in Mahayuti road show as BJP’s Fadnavis, Mate, Khopde file nomination

In a great show of unity within Mahayuti constituents, three candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party - Devendra Fadnavis, Mohan Mate and Krishna Khopde filed their nomination papers for Maharashtra Assembly elections on Friday. The candidates were accompanied by party stalwarts and leaders of other constituent parties of Mahayuti.
Fadnavis completed the procedure and submitted the papers with Suresh Bagle, the Returning Officer for Nagpur South West Assembly constituency.
Similarly Mohan Mate (Nagpur South), and Krishna Khopde (Nagpur East) also submitted their nominations at their nomination receipt centres.
Earlier, all the three candidates along with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, State Party President Chandrashekhar Bawankule and hundreds of workers of all constituent parties reached Samvidhan Square.
The leaders garlanded the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and paid their respects. Later, the roadshow started and the huge procession made its way to Collector office.
President of People’s Republican Party Jogendra Kawade, Working President Jaideep Kawade, MLC Pravin Datke, MLA Sameer Meghe, City BJP President Jitendra alias Bunty Kukde, District President Sudhakar Kohle, Vidarbha Organising Secretary Dr Upendra Kothekar, MLC Dr Parinay Fuke, Vice President Sanjay Bhende, ex-Member of Rajyasabha Ajay Sancheti, Padmashri Dr Vikas Mahatme, MLA Tekchand Savarkar, Virendra Kukreja, Adv Dharmapal Meshram, General Secretary Sandeep Gavai, ex-Mayor Sandip Joshi, Dayashankar Tiwari, Dr Ashish Deshmukh, City President of NCP (Ajit Pawar) Prashant Pawar, MLC Krupal Tumane, MLA Ashish Jaiswal, and thousands of activists and citizens present.
Prior to filing nomination, a public meeting was held where Devendra Fadnavis appealed people to elect Mahayuti to power. Fadnavis said that the work done by the Modi government in Centre and Mahayuti’s contribution in State should be taken into consideration.

“I shall not speak about the margin of my victory. But I am sure that I have
people’s blessings and support on the basis of which I can claim victory,” said Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Nagpur South West constituency. He was interacting with mediapersons after filling the nomination papers, on Friday.
When asked about the pink jacket he was wearing, Fadnavis said with a smile, “There is no agenda in choosing pink colour. I always wear jackets of different colours. Saffron colour is always in my mind. Maharashtra progressed better during Mahayuti’s Government. We could earn people’s faith. We never carry any agenda.”
On reservation issue, Fadnavis asserted, “Nobody would dare to tamper with reservation till BJP is in power and the Constitution exists. Nana Patole can support anyone but he should not force his thought upon us. Our sisters love us so much.”
At the press conference, Mohan Mate expressed confidence of his victory. He said that he had done much work in Nagpur South constituency on the basis of which the party would reap fruits.
Khopde, who also was present, pointed out that BJP has made complete transformation of Nagpur East constituency.
