Inspector General of Police, Jabalpur Zone, Anil Singh Kushwaha chaired an important meeting to review the preparations for Navratri and Dussehra festivals, on Wednesday. DIG Jabalpur Range, Tushar Kanta Vidyarthi and Superintendent of Police, Aditya Pratap Singh along with other gazetted officers attended the meeting. The officials reviewed the planned events, including Garba and processions and directed the SHOs for ensuring installation of idols at traditional locations. Processions are to follow planned routes to ensure public safety. Fixed police posts should be set up at sensitive locations and crowd management strategies will be enforced to prevent any disruptions. Attention was given to safety measures, including the placement of sand-filled buckets and fire extinguishers at Pandals to avoid fire risks. It was advised that donation boxes should be securely kept by event organizers to avoid theft incidents, which have caused disputes in the past. Besides this, Pandals should be adequately enclosed to prevent animals from causing damage to the idols.

The meeting stressed the importance of adequate lighting and clear roads for emergency vehicles around immersion sites. Concerned police stations will be responsible for monitoring the area until the immersion is completed. SP, Aditya Pratap Singh emphasised over maintaining law and order arrangements during the festivities, as huge crowd gather at various public spaces. Special vigilance will be placed on individuals suspected of causing disturbances. Additional security measures include installing CCTV cameras at event sites and ensuring constant patrols. The objective is to maintain a peaceful and safe environment for all participants during the celebrations. The police reiterated their commitment to upholding law and order throughout the festive season.
