Spurious quality of food material found in the kitchen of Hira Sweets.

A team of District Food Department raided the kitchen of Hira Sweets in Gorakhpur area and collected samples of suspected spurious quality of food for laboratory tests. The
raid was conducted in the special campaign for avoiding preparation and sale of spurious quality of food items during the festival.
Under the direction of Collector Deepak Saxena, the District Food Safety Department has intensified inspections of food and beverage establishments in the city.
During the inspection, officials found unhygienic conditions and it was noted that the establishment was not following the government guidelines during the festival season.
The district food safety officer seized samples of multiple items from Hira Sweets, indicating serious concerns about food safety.
District Food Security Officer, Sanjay Gupta informed that if any substandard ingredients will be found
during the investigation, legal action would be taken and license of the business establishment would also be revoked.
District Food Safety Officer, Gupta added that the raid was conducted after receiving complaints about several other stops pertaining to the possibility of substandard ingredients being brought from Gwalior, Bhind and Morena for mixing in sweets in Jabalpur.
The inspection covered more than a dozen food establishments in the city and three of them served notices. Samples of food materials were collected for analysis and further actions will be taken based on the reports.
