Government of Chhattisgarh has declared a holiday for all banks and financial institutions across State for Govardhan Puja on November 1 under the Negotiable Instruments Act of 1885. This decision of the State Government was received with widespread enthusiasm among bank employees and their families who look forward to the celebration. Expressing gratitude for this decision, Y Gopal Krishna, State Secretary, conveyed his appreciation to the Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, for understanding the sentiments of thousands of bank officers and employees across Chhattisgarh.
 
He also extended thanks to BJP State Chief, Kiran Singh Deo, for his efforts in advancing the request of the bank employees to the Chief Minister and ensuring that the demand for a holiday on this auspicious day was fulfilled. This declaration has been welcomed by the banking community as a thoughtful acknowledgment of their cultural and traditional values.
