The function will be inaugurated on October 8 under the chief hospitality of the Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav  
 
The 50th Ustad Alauddin Khan Samaroh will be organised by the Culture Department of the State in collaboration with the District Administration - Maihar from October 8 to 10 at Stadium Ground, Maihar. Director, Directorate of Culture N P Namdeo said that Ustad Alauddin Khan was famous in the music world not only in the country but all over the world. He made tireless efforts to enhance the musical tradition in Madhya Pradesh and connect the new generation with music. In honour and respect of such a great musician, the Madhya Pradesh Culture Department organises the Ustad Alauddin Khan Samaroh in Maihar every year, which is in its 50th year. On this occasion, there will be a performance of local artists coordinated by the District Administration on October 7. The function will be inaugurated on October 8 under the chief hospitality of the Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav.
 
The programme will be presided over by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture, Tourism, Religious Trust and Endowments Dharmendra Singh Lodhi. Under the cultural presentations, the instrumental group performance will be given by Maihar Vadya Vrinda. After this, there will be a Kathak group dance performance by Naynika Ghosh and companions, Gurugram. The next presentation will be of Sarod recital by Indrayudh Majumdar, Kolkata and the last presentation will be of duet singing by Pt. Rajan Mishra and Swaransh Mishra, New Delhi. On the second day of the function, the first presentation of Odissi group dance will be presented by Vidushi Sanchita Bhattacharya, Kolkata. The next presentation will be of tabla playing by Anshul Pratap Singh, Bhopal. After that, there will be Santoor playing by Pt Abhay Rustam Sopori, Delhi and the last presentation will be of singing by Pt Uday Kumar Malik, Delhi. On the third and last day, at 4 pm, first of all, Maihar Vadya Vrinda will perform instrumental music, followed by Odissi group dance by Vidushi Kasturi Patnaik and group, Delhi, followed by singing by Sanjukta Das, Kolkata. Next in the sequence, there will be a flute performance by Pt Shashank Subramaniam, Chennai and the last performance will be Bharatnatyam by Bhadra Sinha and group, New Delhi.
 
Two exhibitions to be organised On this occasion, two exhibitions are also being organised, under which an exhibition of miniature paintings based on 108 name mysteries will be organised under the ‘Devi’ exhibition while another exhibition focused on string instruments will be organised under ‘Tantu’.
