Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday inaugurated and performed bhoomipujan of various development works worth Rs 167.21 crore in Dantewada district. The newly-constructed girls hostel, beautification works and other development works were inaugurated. Foundation stones of various works including school building and other workers were laid. Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, MP Bastar Mahesh Kashyap, Dantewada MLA Chaitram Atami, Member of State Commission for Women Ojasvi Mandavi, DIG Kamlochan Kashyap, Collector Mayank Chaturvedi, SP Gaurav Rai and others were present. Earlier, Chief Minister Sai planted a kesar mango sapling in the Circuit House premises as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan’ during his visit to Dantewada today.
 
Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh also planted a mango sapling while Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap planted a coconut sapling. Besides, Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap planted an almond sapling, and MLA Chaitram Atami planted a jackfruit sapling. It may be mentioned that on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modil, ongoing plantation efforts are being carried out under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan’. To date, over 12 lakh saplings have been planted in Dantewada district as part of this initiative.
